3D polyurethane foam sculpture model released
The mechanical engineering department of Laval University in Canada has recently made a 3D polyurethane foam sculpture model. This 7-foot(2.13-meter)model was completed in three parts, taking 38 hours and reaching around 1 centimeter.
Eric from the Robotics Laboratory said that the materials used for 3D sculptures are not traditional thermoplastic plastics, clay and metal, but standard polyurethane foam. This technology can be used to create automated robot manufacturing technology and produce large-scale building prototypes.
